What was really fun and engaging about the Kid Film Lab 4 was how the film students were able to explore their own community, take it to the streets one might say, and take all of the film skills they have been working on and apply them to real life situations. I was really impressed by how fearless the film students were. They weren’t afraid to hold the cameras, ask questions and let their creativity flow. It has been a really cool experience watching the participants of the lab grow as filmmakers, they knew how to frame shots, set up lighting, operate editing software, organize stop motion video, write scripts and storyboards and working collectively to produce work that they could be proud of. What I really enjoyed about the week long lab was the students were really able to immerse themselves in the projects they were working on and build filmmaking relationships with each other. Overall the Kid Film Lab was an amazing experience for all that were involved.
